LESSON 6: CONJUNCTIONS

Before we begin to learn more about conjunctions, let's be familiar with this word:

F-A-N-B-O-Y-S

So, how will this word help in today's learning?
The acronym relates itself to our English language learning in such a way:

As the picture says, the most commonly found conjunctions being used to join or connect words is the seven joiners mentioned above, and they are termed as 

COORDINATING CONJUNCTIONS.

Before we go further, remember:

COORDINATING CONJUNCTIONS are used to connect TWO independent clauses.

When a coordinating conjunction connects two independent clauses, it is often (but not always) accompanied by a comma:

Example: Ulysses wants to play for the scholastic decathlon, but he has had trouble meeting the academic requirements.

When the two independent clauses connected by a coordinating conjunction are nicely balanced or brief, many writers will omit the comma:

Example: Ulysses has a great jump shot but he isn't quick on his feet.

So before using a comma, you can determine if your sentence is long or brief to see if it is needed.

LESSON 5: ADJECTIVE

An adjective is a describing word.

There is a part of speech which identifies, quantifies or describes a pronoun or a noun, namely adjective. Generally, one of the essential features of an adjective is the ability to modify a pronoun or a noun which will enhance it in a more specific and captivating way. In other words, adjectives provide us with more information concerning animals, things or people which are represented by pronouns or nouns.

In order to express clearly, adjectives are undoubtedly important. Without it, people might only know the clock tower in London as “Ben”.

Also, pizza would probably left with only one size option.

As a matter of fact, there are various types of adjectives which help us to communicate clearly. Personality adjectives appeared to be the adjectives which are most frequently used in our daily life. To be specific, personality is the most important element of human beings; people often use adjectives to describe individuals more than the description of anything else, without realizing it. Human beings are unique, and therefore, each of us has different personalities. To describe the personality or character of an individual,  personality adjectives are essential.
